Introducing NATALIE Demo Site #3 and Constructed Wetlands to Latvian Stakeholders

On  March 26, 2024, Zemgale Planning Region, Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies and Baltic Environmental Forum, three partners of the NATALIE project in Latvia, conducted a meeting with stakeholders of the Zemgale demonstration (demo) site (DS).

The aim of the meeting was to raise awareness about constructed wetlands among local decision makers. Participants included representatives and decision makers from regional and municipal levels.

The participants were introduced to the main principles and technical requirements of constructed wetlands, and the financial and administrative conditions for the development of the constructed wetland solution in the Zemgale region were discussed.

The meeting was also the occasion to introduce the objectives of the NATALIE project to stakeholders, and how the specific objectives of the demo site 3 participates to the borader objectives of increasing European regions resilience to climate change by 2030 using nature-based solutions.  

The meeting was also an opportunity to introduce local decision makers in Latvia to the NATALIE project and how the specific objectives of the DS#3 in Zemgale region contribute to the broader objectives of increasing the resilience of European regions to climate change by 2030 through nature-based solutions.
