NATALIE at the conference for the French public regional sector on climate change adaptation with NBS

What exactly are nature-based adaptation solutions? How are they presented? Is it difficult for local authorities to implement them and under what financial constraints?  

The conference, introduced by IUCN, provided an opportunity to showcase nature-based solutions that can help French regions protect themselves from the impacts of climate change and even participate locally in improving the situation. It was attended by around 60 participants.

Two NATALIE partners, the International Office for Water (OiEau) and the Etablissement Public Territorial de Bassin de Vienne, France (EPTB Vienne), presented the European NATALIE project, the concept of nature-based solutions (NbS) and their value for climate change adaptation. They also presented who are the stakeholders working on NbS in France, what are the available funding sources, and shared initial feedback from French case studies initiated in the NATALIE project.
