On June 18-19, 2024, the kick-off meeting for the GroundedExtremes Project (https://groundedextremes.org/news/) took place at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Representatives from the nine institutions forming the GroundedExtremes consortium gathered to discuss important aspects of the project, including administration, work packages, and case studies. The project focuses on adaptation to hydrological extremes from a groundwater perspective.
Our partner Miguel Moreno from VUB was invited to this event, where he presented the overarching goals of the NATALIE project along with the case study #5, an Aquifer Storage Transfer and Recovery (ASTR) system in Sint-Truiden, Belgium. The goal of this presentation was to discuss synergies, exchange ideas, and explore possibilities for future collaboration.
