The first Belgian Science for Climate Action conference took place on February 19th and 20th, 2024, at the Maison de la Poste in Brussels, Belgium. Hosted by the Belgian Climate Centre, the main topic of the conference was "Climate Extremes: Causes and Consequences."
The aim of the meeting was to raise awareness about constructed wetlands among local decision-makers. Participants included representatives and decision-makers from regional and municipal levels.
This two-day conference gathered more than 400 attendees, including scientists, academics, policymakers, and other representatives, to discuss important topics through workshops, debates, and presentations.
During the session dedicated to ongoing projects addressing climate change issues, our partner Miguel Moreno from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) presented the NATALIE project and its goals to increase resilience to climate change.
