NATALIE at the Groundwater Symposium 2024 in Mexico

IAH

From 27 to 29 November 2024, the IAH Mexico Chapter organised the Groundwater Symposium 2024 in Monterrey, Mexico, bringing together around 300 participants including researchers, policymakers, and water management experts. The event provided a platform to discuss key groundwater challenges, such as contamination, monitoring, and the impact of climate change and extreme events.

During the symposium, Miguel Moreno (Vrije Universiteit Brussel - VUB) presented research conducted as part of the NATALIE project, highlighting innovative approaches to sustainable groundwater management. His presentation generated significant interest, particularly regarding Case Study #5, "Blue Horizon Limburg", which focuses on nature-based solutions (NBS) to enhance groundwater resilience in the Belgian region of Limburg.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and foster international collaboration on climate adaptation and sustainable water management, a key priority for the NATALIE project.
